"Sometimes I’m accused of questioning Israel’s right to exist. This is completely false. I don’t believe Israel does exist." I see you decided to wade in slowly. 😂

Thank you for fleshing out, what's been left out of our history.

"Anti-semite" has been such a remarkable word spell. Surely a precursor to 'safe and effective' in its power to challenge questions and thought.

The merging of 'faith' with 'religion' had a similar effect and kept many from challenging religions out of an innate respect for faith. That spell is breaking too. I wrote about it in my most recent stack. (I don't usually link my own, but since I think they dovetail:

https://devanneykathleen.substack.com/p/faith-and-religion

Thanks, Tereza. Brilliant.

Haha, I'm always happy to have my delicate approach be appreciated by you ;-)

Wasn't that fascinating to find out that the Anti-Semite League was founded by someone with three Jewish ex-wives who was concerned about their monopoly on finance and industry?

The question of who the Semites are came up on my YT comments so I went back to my source in the NIV Study Bible. The story of Noah's sons Genesis 10:21 is titled The Semites and the footnote reads, "The descendants of Shem were called Shemites, later modified to Semites."

It's interesting that The Tower of Babel is interjected after that and before the nine generations that get to Abram. Obviously they needed to explain why, if the whole world had descended from Noah who gave it to the Shemites, everyone spoke a different language. It's actually a very ham-handed reverse justification.

And PLEASE link your own. I'm behind in my reading and had missed this. I've made your picture my wallpaper, as I often do. And I've linked your article in a draft called A House for the Soul in the Land Beyond Faith, which is the title of a book I'd been working on. I think we define these words differently and I'm eager to explore the ideas you present. I won't say more now so I can save that eagerness for the episode.

"Obviously they needed to explain why, if the whole world had descended from Noah who gave it to the Shemites, everyone spoke a different language. It's actually a very ham-handed reverse justification."

'Ham-handed reverse justifications' are just another tool (along / partial truths, lying outright, projecting and accusing enemies of your crimes, conflating, disproportionating etc.) - in the Deception toolbox, right?

I took a bunch of Religion Studies classes in another life, though remember little of the details. I could never really figure out how so many saw the bible as THE source of their faith. It was pretty clear that interpretation - and differences with - were wide. Yet, so persistently compelling.

Now we have The Naked Bible (interpreted from ancient Hebrew) making the case the The Old Testament is not about God at all - but perhaps an account of a 'superior' non-human beings who genetically manufactured homo sapiens, and also we've had, since the 90's I think, the Bible Code scholars, (and mathematicians) who tell us the Torah is a dynamic code that includes everything that has has happened in the past and our future. (Gregg Braden sees its coded nature as suggestive that we do live in some kind of simulation. I'd really like to see Braden and Biglino talk.)

What to make of all this? At the very least, it's all up for a major re-think. I suspect the translations - so varied - are attempts at controlling a very large contextual narrative for controlling us. Of course, we'd inevitably get here.

I look forward to more on A House for the Soul in the Land Beyond Faith (great title) and exploring our differences on how we define faith. (Fluid for me.)

Best, Tereza.

Hey TC, nice job on Churchill's atrocites. Fits well with your article on Kissinger.

Well summarized, too.

"So there you have it. The deaths of millions, the leveling of cities, and a permanent legacy that “all’s fair in love and war” because of the stock market gambling debts and debauchery of a chronic drunk on one side and a philandering propagandist on the other. And I didn’t even mention that Churchill bombed the disarmed French fleet and killed 2000 of his own allies because he mistranslated a French word.

These are what passes for heroes these days; God help us."

Henry Makow has a lot of interesting info about a lot of things, including Church-ill.:

"The real point is that history is a hoax, contrived by cabalist central bankers, to advance world tyranny. They empower perverts and misfits to create war and mayhem. For example, chaos relieved Winston Churchill's chronic depression. He confessed at the onset of WWI: "Everything is tending to catastrophe and collapse. I am interested, geared up, and happy. Is it not horrible to be built like this?"

These monsters are our leaders. Subverted by a Luciferian cult, the moral bankruptcy of Western society is masked by material prosperity but this cannot last. Thus, they are erecting a police state while the intelligentsia and masses can still be bought with their own credit. "

Thank you, Geoff. I had the funny experience of reading the first quote and thinking, "That's well said and ballsy" before I realized it was mine ;-)

Great Henry Makow quote. I especially liked "they are erecting a police state while the intelligentsia and masses can still be bought with their own credit." I have his article on the Dreyfus Affair as a false flag in a draft, referred by someone else, for a future article. He's brilliant and I'll read this with interest.

I do hope you check out some of Makow's short articles on Churchill; gawd was he a sleazeball. A nothing striving to be somebody without a shred of decency. Just like Kissinger in so many ways. “In New York on September 26, 1918 Louis Marshall wrote to the anti-Zionist Max Senior, "My reasons for supporting Zionism have been emphasised by the rapid march of events. The Allied armies have now swept the Turks and Germans out of Palestine. It is significant that Jewish units constitute a part of the victorious army. President Wilson has expressed his approval of the principles laid down in the Balfour Declaration, and the Allied Powers are unanimously in favour of it. The American Jewish Committee recognised the political importance of the Balfour Declaration as a factor in the efforts to defeat the Central Powers. Major Lionel de Rothschild states that the League for British Jews of which he is president, is in agreement with the American Jewish Committee.

The Balfour Declaration with its acceptance by the Powers is an act of the highest diplomacy. It means BOTH MORE AND LESS than appears on the surface; FOR ZIONISM IS BUT AN INCIDENT OF .A FAR REACHING PLAN: IT IS MERELY A CONVENIENT PEG ON WHICH TO HANG A POWERFUL WEAPON."

You never cease to amaze me, Julius. Was it you or someone else who pointed out to me that Freedman was the seminal source of the Balfour info I'd picked up from Max Igan? Some interesting comments on Kissinger and a few others in this 60 second read from Makow.

" 'The emigration of Jews from the Soviet Union is not an objective of American foreign policy', The New York Times on Saturday quotes Kissinger as saying on the tapes. 'And if they put Jews into gas chambers in the Soviet Union, it is not an American concern. Maybe a humanitarian concern'."

Thanks for sending me to your post, Josh. Very courageous of you to face this as someone raised in Hebrew school. Others, like Naomi Wolf, simply accept their role as God's chosen people. You not only take a hard look at Israel's action today but also the creation of Israel. And you critique the scriptural ideology that endorses it, adding new information to my knowledge.

As you probably know, I've been delving into the Shemite scriptures, the genealogy of who has the God-given right to rule the world, from Noah's son Shem to Jacob/ Israel to Abram to the Davidic dynasty. That's interesting that the Amalekites are descendants of Esau. That makes sense, if we look at the Bible as a projection of guilt.

I see the World Wars and the Bible following the same formula of turning history inside-out and upside-down, making the villains into heroes, the heroes into villains, the victims into aggressors, and the aggressors into victims. So I differ with you on taking the victim narratives of both as a given, as I show in these: https://thirdparadigm.substack.com/p/talmud-tricks-and-torah-curses (talks about Jacob), https://thirdparadigm.substack.com/p/empire-and-religion and https://thirdparadigm.substack.com/p/hot-and-cold-hatred.

But I don't disagree with your heart or your conclusions, and I commend you. I'll also post this on your essay, post it in a note, and link it in a future draft. Thanks Josh!

"Unz feels that he is not entirely credible because of unspecified historical errors ..."

Well, Unz is wrong there, as he often is, because there probably are no historical errors in Freedman's speech although there definitely are in at least one commonly avalabe transcription and I refuted a listing of those in a comment on UR years ago showing how a transcriber may easily make the listed "errors." wonder if it's still accessible.

I would definitely like to hear a verifiably true audio of Freedman so I could make my own transcript.

Anyway, Unz is definitely a mixed bag. And I've learned to be wary of those who may speak the truth only in order to gain "street cred." This goes double for $h__ stirrers and triple for those with big bucks.

I have no doubt that Freedman, despite any honest or forged "errors," was speaking the truth and if anyone wants to know why, it's because his message fits a very common pattern, and it's a pattern that's rarely allowed to see the light of day.

Thanks for helping turn on the lights!

Expand full comment

Thanks for those additions, Geoff. I didn't pick up on any historical errors either, but I don't know the history as well as you. I think that he had an emphasis on white Christianity that I didn't share, if I'm remembering the right speech. But that certainly didn't change his credibility, which seemed very high to me based on the money he'd lost getting the information out. That's always a good indicator to me.

Expand full comment

It was very interesting to me that when the discussion about Freedman's speech came up, if I remmeber correctly, some "thentofore" unkown commenter popped up and started "talkin trash" about it. I had to laugh and I shot down every single point it made and it was never heard from again. No one refuted me and while I had a lot of supporters there, I also had plenty of vicious enemies, some of whom were so persistent that they had to be bots. It was great fun for several years til something happened and a purge began. It was about the time that Linh Dinh left in a huff and who still seems bitter to this day.

Part of the fun was interacting with guys like Ralph Raico (RIP) who rarely showed up but when he did, he'd support my comments. Then there was the time that (I'll just used the initials) PG, a really doofus but somehwat prominent, writer for the "Libertarian" LRC came on and started yapping about his "friend" Murray Rothbard and tried to set some commenter straight by invoking Rothbard's name, which was utterly bogus and I counter commented with a quote of Rothbard's which pretty obviously contradicted the dude, and that shut him up permanently which was not my intent because I prefer that they stick around and make fools of themselves. They invariably show themselves as vacuous windbags, and that so called and self proclaimed "experts" are mostly full of fetid and overheated air who can, and should be, effectively challenged.

I got censored on one of my comments which was perfectly civil but also had the potential to be quite embarrasing to the goons running the show, so I left too. Like I said it was a blast because some of the commenters were quite vicious but I was up to the challenge if I may ever so humbly say so myself. It was quite stimulating but also a huge waste of time due to the high percentage of name calling clowns and their laughable simple mindedness and worse. A lot of them used to "lose it" which was hilarious.

One really useful tool over there is Unz's archives of old magazines, which are a real treasure. I used to spend days at that site and uncovered tons of gems.

I like your military strategy and share it! Give me a contentious fool any day to be a foil for my arguments!
