Excellent lists, Tereza! I've been working on most of these maxims my whole life. Also, I wear the same basic outfit almost every day and have done so for over a decade. It's very freeing to not have to make wardrobe decisions until it's party timeπŸŽ‰πŸŽΈπŸŽ€πŸΎπŸ₯‚ (which happens often enough in our home)!

I love that you live in a home that has parties! I have more than a strong suspicion you rock those party outfits. And there's something about keeping the baseline steady that makes the contrast all the more dramatic. I didn't include one where I talked about not wearing makeup so that a mere brush of mascara and lipstick could be transformative.

These days, with no kids in the house and nothing to dress up for, I've gone the opposite direction. I often change clothes four times in a day, between the four seasons in a day we have here and my dance classes--which are always a costume occasion. The farmer's market is an excuse to dress for excess. But if I'm ever in your neck of the woods, I'm wrangling an invitation to those house parties, which sound like they'd be a REAL reason to get dolled up ;-)

Oh and didn't my last one echo that warm, fleecy blanket hug rocked on a warm sea that you sent me?

Haha, that's exactly what I said to my friend Lisa in aerial last night. I was keeping her entertained with the names I've been called online lately. She thought 'stage four syphilitic cunt' was especially amusing. Not even stage two?

But I'm glad the clamor of inner voice critics, which I'd internalized from all the hate notes, drove me to set my controversial article aside and resurrect this. Along with your sweet words and talking to my daughter Cassandra, it grounded me. And now I can go back to the controversial article with calm and purpose.

And Katie, whose meme and link I'd already put into that article, just came out with Your Superpower of Discernment. How crazy is that synchronicity? https://revkatiegrace.substack.com/p/sensitive-soul-superpower-1-discernment.

Supurb advice in those lists. I used to live in Monterey and hike Big Sur often and I never knew about the monastery! Some very mystical energy around Big Sur...had multiple spiritual experiences there....

It's all the way at the end in Lucia, up a long winding driveway. I just looked and it says it's no longer accessible from the North, my direction. I guess Hwy 1 got wiped out in spots. So I'm glad I got it in when I did. And YES, there's something magical about that energy. I always came back down that hill feeling like I could drive straight off the cliff and it would be okay. This deep sense of certainty that things were not as they appeared.

Thanks for the compliment ;-)

I used to hike in the Big Sur area on a weekly basis when I was living in Pacific Grove (late 80s). It is indeed an special place.

Thank you for this; lots to ponder and practice.

I'm already doing Body and Soul #4 and #6 (easy when you live alone); Food #1 (dailiy long walks are good for this); and Food #6 (tiny kitchen and fridge).

These are brilliant contemplative points, Tereza. I couldn’t have imagined that being so spheroidally flattened at the poles could be so much fun!
